Correspondence Tips

Finding the words to express your gratitude to a donor family can be difficult.  Here are some suggestions to help you thank your donor family.

Thank them for the gift of sight and explain how the transplant affected your quality of life.

Avoid using identifying markers such as, your name or contact information.

On a separate piece of paper, please include your name, so we can forward your letter to the proper donor family.

All correspondence is confidential.  If the donor family responds, we will inform you. Remember, they are healing, too, and may not be emotionally prepared to respond.
